The International and Intercultural Communication Section provides a platform for discussing critical research in the cross-border fields of international communication and intercultural communication. The focus of the section is on inter-, multi-, and transdisciplinary approaches to cross-border communications in professional fields as well as academic fields in all areas of social human change.
At its conferences, the section welcomes contributions that observe different forms of cross-border dialogue, exchange and flows between and/or within nations, regions, cultures, communities and individuals. The section’s field of interest is defined very broadly by referring to all types of cross-border or global communication as we focus on mediated and (inter)personal forms of communication from the perspective of production, distribution, content and reception. The section also invites papers on the social, economic, political and cultural characteristics and consequences of globalisation and international and intercultural communication processes.
